Yes, Dragon Boat Festival is upon us. You know what this means, the annual feasting on dumplings commences. Resorts World Sentosa has created five premium dumplings to whet your appetite.

Resorts World Sentosa has collaborated with five celebrity restaurants â€” Feng Shui Inn, Forest 森, Tangerine, Syun and Osia Steak and Seafood to bring us five tantalising creations. Aptly named the King of Dumplings set (S$108nett), this scrumptious quintet is only available for takeaway at Feng Shui Inn.

A dumpling that will surely be a crowd favourite would be the Unagi Rice Dumpling (香烤日本鳗鱼粽)  from Syun. This novel twist on the bak zhang features grilled unagi, shiitake mushrooms topped with citrusy sansho kinome (Japanese Pepper).

It’s no secret that we love our Japanese food, having this particular Japanese rendition of our beloved zongzi is very much welcomed. It’s akin to an extra large unagi sushi and I gotta say not hatin’ this.

From Forest æ£®, we have the Braised Pork Belly Chesnut Rice Dumpling. This dumpling was probably the more traditional of the lot. This package is consists of delicious stir-fried glutinous rice along with slow-braised pork belly.

Inspired by Peranakan Culture, celebrity Chef Sam Leong added blue pea flower to give the rice that trademark tinge of blue.

While the dumpling was delicious in its own right, I would have liked a little more pork belly.

Now onto biggest dumpling of the bunch and pièce de résistance from Feng Shui Inn.

This is the Hong Kong Fisherman Abalone And Chicken Rice Dumpling (疍家10头鲍鱼咸鸡粽). The glorious pillow-shaped parcel aspires to bring out the best of Cantonese flavours.

This luxurious dumpling contains three whole 10-head abalones from Australia, roasted salted chicken breast with conpoy, roasted pork, soybeans and roasted chestnuts.

This dumpling had to be the embodiment of abundance and one that is definitely great for sharing.

For those with a penchant for sweet treats, Tangerine’s Kao Niew Ping (泰椰番薯粽 (ç´ )) is a great way to end this year’s dumpling’s festival. Made with antioxidant-rich purple sweet potatoes and coconut milk infused sticky rice, this was basically elevated Thai sticky rice.

Sweet but not cloying, this was quite delightful indeed.
