It’s only a month until it’s December and Shake Shack is definitely as excited as I am for the holidays! Shake Shack has released its holiday season special, the Christmas Cookie Shake, beginning from 1 November 2019.

The Christmas Cookie Shake (S$7.80) is inspired by Shake Shack’s Culinary Director, Mark Rosati’s childhood sugar cookie.

This seasonal shake is a concoction of sugar cookie frozen custard topped with whipped cream to resemble snow atop mountains in the United States. A mix of red and green sprinkles are scattered over the top to resemble holiday colours.

It has apparently gained quite a bit of recognition in the United States, even becoming a tradition at Shake Shack! It has now finally been released at Singapore’s Jewel, ready for all to indulge in.

To accompany the drink, we also ordered the burgers that were already available in store, namely The ‘Shroom Burger and the SmokeShack.

Catering to those who prefer meatless burgers, the ‘Shroom Burger (S$10.80) a perfectly grilled bun that conceals a surprise. Shake Shack fries their portobello mushrooms till crisp and fills it with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses.

Imagine the sheer delight of seeing the cheese flow out of the burger when being torn apart—I really had lots of fun tucking into this burger!

SmokeShack (S$10.90) is the complete opposite of the ‘Shroom Burger and is the ultimate burger for carnivores like me. Stacked on top of a grilled bun are slices of all-natural applewood smoked bacon and chopped cherry peppers for that small kick of spice.

The chopped cherry peppers really did spice things up, but it was just a tad bit too spicy for me. So if you can’t tolerate the heat like me, I’d recommend picking from Shake Shack’s other burger choices.

Also, if you’re looking for extra indulgence, you may opt for the double cheeseburger (S$14.40) instead of the single.

With all that food talk, have you ever wondered how Shake Shack soared to such great heights? Well here’s a little insight to their very intricate backstory.

Mark Rosati, the culinary director of the huge establishment always had a strong interest in food and a yearning to innovate. Graduating from New York University, Mark had an eye-opening experience living in the big city.

Through that, he was very much inspired by a coincidental meet with Chef Tom Colicchio who had set his culinary career in motion. Since then, Mark has assisted in the climb of Shake Shack’s success and even attained Best Burger at the 2014 South Beach Wine and Food Festival Burger Bash!

Are you salivating yet? Come down to Jewel so you don’t miss out on this holiday goodness and Shake Shack’s amazing burgers!
