Nothing gets my heart racing like a food festival. I’m sure my fellow foodies can agree, not only do you get an excellent variety of food, you can also eat to your heart’s content.

If you share my sentiments, then Let’s F’east Together at Level 1 Atrium of Square 2 is one that you can’t miss. Held from now till 4 August 2019, this is perfect for all your foodie friends.

Here are six of the stalls where you have to visit!

1. Soi Coco

Soi Coco is all about coconuts and if you love coconuts as much as I do, you’re in for a treat. Soi Coco has two stalls, one with their signature Coconut Pudding (S$5.90 for one, S$13.90 for three) and the other one for their Coconut Chips. 

Each pudding cup features sweet and succulent coconut flesh, enhanced with coconut milk and topped with refreshing coconut water. The icing on the pudding you get a delicate dusting of gula melaka powder.

A tropical dessert that is reminiscent of sunny beach holidays.

This pudding was fresh and not overly sweet. I always love gula melaka and while this had those characteristic depp caramelly notes, I felt that the powder could have been a little finer to match how delicate the pudding was.

If you don’t have much of a sweet tooth, then Soi Coco Coconut Chips (three for S$10, seven for S$20) is a good option. These nifty little treats come in six flavours, Original, Gula Melaka, Coffee & Vanilla, Cinnamon, Dark Chocolate and Pandan.

The coconut chips were crispy and fragrant, not to mention dangerously addictive. A much healthier alternative to potato chips, you can bet these are next on your shopping list.

If you are coco about coconuts then you have to hit Soi Coco’s stalls.

2. Cookies4U by Scoopz

If know your ice cream, then you would be familiar with Singapore’s homegrown ice cream seller Scoopz. While you can also get their tubs of ice cream, I would highly recommend you snag a jar of their cookies instead.

Their premium butter cookies are eggless and are low in sugar content. I know, would this butter cookies even taste good without these essential core ingredients?

I gave their Golden Pebbles a little taste test. Oh, I’m not exaggerating but these might be the best cookies I have ever eaten. Crumbly and oh-so-buttery, trust me you can’t stop at one.

These delectable tubs are going at S$19.80 for one, S$36 for two and S$53 for three, I’d say grab them while you can.

3. Aliyf Gallery

For something a little savoury, head over to Aliyf Gallery for some tauhu begedil. If the name Aliyf Gallery sounds at all familiar, you would have probably seen them in during the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar.

A box tauhu begedil will set you back S$10.50 and is topped with bonito flakes and a couple of fiery red cut chillis.

If you never had tauhu begedil, all you need to know is these little nuggets are light-as-air and make for a delicious snack any time of the day.

4. Ong Ong Kitchen

At Ong Ong Kitchen, you’ll find a personal favourite of mine: Salt-Baked Chicken (S$19.90). Out the myriad of ways one can prepare chicken, salt-baked chicken has to one of my preferred ways to eat chicken.

Basically, with the copious amount of salt used to surround the chicken during baking, this ensures that the chicken not exposed to direct heat. Which removes the possibility of the chicken burning or charring. The end result is a juicy and succulent bird.

The chicken was tender and tasty, but as the name suggests the chicken does veer a little on the salty side. Still, a lip-smacking, finger-licking’ mouthful.

5. Rainbow Lapis 

For a healthy dose of nostalgia, you have to make a pit stop at Rainbow Lapis for old-school cakes and kueh. These delicacies are made fresh daily, so you can trust that these cakes are top-notch.

Each cute little kueh comes up to S$1.00 or if you want to go all out you can select up to six kueh‘s for S$5.50. Rainbow Lapis offers quite a huge selection of kueh‘s from Pulut Hitam to Rainbow Lapis to the ever popular ang ku kueh. 

You’ll have a tough time keeping it down to just six.

6. Alley

If you made your annual trip to the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar then you would be familiar with Alley and their famous brown sugar drinks. A trend we will surely never tire of.

A rendition of our beloved brown sugar drink you have to try is their Brown Sugar Creme Brulee (S$5.30 Medium, S$6.30 Large). The top of the drink is torched so you get the caramelised sugar bits just a crème brûlée.

A little more complex than the average brown sugar bubble tea, those burnt caramel notes adding a whole new layer to the drink.

If you are feeling adventurous or bored with your usual selection of snack and goodies then Let’s F’east Together is your best bet!
