Chanel Métiers d’Art 2019 Pouches

June always marks the launch of Chanel’s Métiers d’Art collection, a once yearly affair with a collection that works with most if not all the specialist workshops under Chanel’s subsidiary Paraffection, one that was set up in 1997 to preserve the skills of the artisans of their very specific crafts that might have otherwise vanished with the passing of time.

And with this year’s collection, which was also Karl Lagerfelds’ last, you could say Chanel has went out all out with the #CHANELinNYC collection, one inspired by ancient Egypt and modern New York City, with an emphasis on colours like black and gold that if you think about, are revered in both locales then and now.

To start off your journey into this collection of collections, here are a pair of pouches that are loved by all, your standard 27.5 cm by 20 cm leather cases that are different yet the same. They are sized the same, and both come in black, but while one is embossed with large lettering in gold on the embossed calf leather, the other is a quilted leather pouch that’s adorned with dangling gold-tone charms.

Priced at SGD1820 and SGD3130 respectively, it isn’t hard to see the difference in both of them and why they are priced accordingly. Due to launched in Singapore’s Chanel boutiques, head down soon and have a look before they are all snapped up because they most definitely would.
