Hermès’ Collier de Chien Bracelet is, without a doubt, one of the most famous pieces of jewellery the French luxury brand has to offer. Not only is it an eye-catching piece and a total statement-maker, the fact that it’s made available in a wide variety of colours (paired with either GHW, PHW or RGHW) says much about its appeal and desirability. Interestingly, its roots date back to 1927, when a customer put up a special request for a one-of-a-kind belt inspired by the dog collars which Hermès offered back in the day. This led to the creation of the Collier de Chien (identified by the four Médor studs) belt, a signature element that eventually found its way to the jewellery department over the years.
Today, the Collier de Chien Bracelet is offered in sterling silver, full gold and even in a Cavale fabric band, but the original design paired with a leather bracelet had been left relatively untouched over the years. Until now.
Here’s your first look at the Collier de Chien 24 Bracelet, a brand new version that’s thinner in terms of height, and furnished with a single hardware element right in front. Yes, that means Hermès has done away with the Médor studs and ring plaque, but kept the adjustable clasp mechanism on the new bracelet, giving it a streamlined look that’s no less alluring. The other plus point about the shorter height? It’s perfect for stacking with your other Hermès bracelets like the Kelly Double Tour or Rivale without looking extra chunky on the wrist, which is never flattering.
The Collier de Chien 24 Bracelet will come in either Madame Calfskin (similar to Epsom) or Swift and paired with GHW, PHW or RGHW, so there’s definitely something for everyone. As for colours, you can keep an eye out for the classic hues like Gold, Noir and Orange, as well as the newly introduced Fall-Winter 2019 shade, Deep Blue. Priced at SGD1100 each, it will be available soon across all Hermès boutiques in Singapore. #happyshopping
