Saint Laurent continues to unveil new bags season after season that typically revolve around the iconic YSL logo. Now, even though a number of you lament the fact that it’s pretty much same-same, you can’t deny that the logo is really chic, especially when comes all shiny in metallic hardware.

Now, the Envelope Bag is not exactly a new silhouette at the house of Saint Laurent, one that’s shaped (and opens) like an envelope, armed with pockets and compartments within that makes it a great bag for the everyday. What’s new, however, is the mix patterned exterior (unofficially called the ‘tri-quilt’), one that comes with a diagonal detailing on the front flap that’s flanked by vertical stripes left and right and finished with a diamond-quilted body all around. Which does provide ample amounts of visual interest.

The Envelope Bag comes in 3 different sizes, but the Medium (SGD3180) seems to be the perfect size. It’s big enough (24 cm by 17.5 cm) to hold all your daily essentials and comes in lovely colours like Black, Blanc Vintage, Dark Legion Red, Dark Smog, Dark Tea and Deep Green for the ones that come with gold hardware.

As for those who love silver hardware, you can keep an eye out for the bags which comes in Earth Grey, Eros Red, Marble Pink and Prunia, which is slightly different from its gold-toned counterpart. The other plus point about the Envelope Bag? It comes in Grain de Poudre embossed leather, which is known for its resistance to everyday wear, and one that can be cleaned easily with a damp cloth before drying it with another.
